Building Code of Appeals

These members are qualified by experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction.  The Board shall have the power to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged there is error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the Building Official in the enforcement of State law or any ordinance adopted pursuant thereto.  The Board shall have the power to review requests for use of alternate materials and methods of construction as prescribed in Section 103A.13 of the Code of Iowa.

5 Year Terms – Appointed by Mayor with Council Approval
