Right to Read Day: Silent Book Club on Monday, April 20th from 12-3:30 pm. As part of our celebration of National Library Week, we are starting out with a celebration of our Right to Read! You are welcome to fill the library for a drop-in Silent Book Club. Bring a book (or check one out here), find a comfortable space in the library, and read. That’s it! Whether you are reading to learn something new, for entertainment, to try to get your To-Be-Read pile tackled, or finishing up this month’s book club selection – we celebrate all readers here. Be sure to get here early if you want to claim your favorite reading nook!
Library Workers Day: Open House on Tuesday, April 21st from 3-5 pm. Continuing to celebrate National Library Week, today we are celebrating our library workers. Stop in to see our amazing staff in their natural habitat, introduce yourself to some of our new team members, and maybe learn some fun facts about the librarians! Light snacks will be provided.
National Library Outreach Day on Wednesday, April 22nd. Watch our outreach video on our Facebook page.
National Take Action for Libraries Day on Thursday, April 23rd.
Library Week Guess-Off. As part of our celebration of National Library Week (April 19-25), guess how many items are in the library’s collection. This includes books, puzzles, games, take-home kits – all of the things that can be checked out at the library. Patrons can submit one guess per day from April 1 through April 24. The patron who guesses the closest to the actual number of library items will win a prize sponsored by the Friends of the Carroll Public Library!
