June Author Talks

What’s in your TBR (to be read) pile for this summer?  Check out our upcoming online author talks and then tell us . . . would you read it?

Smithsonian scientists will join us to discuss Extinctopedia, telling a complex story, not just of those who are extinct but also of those in greatest peril, with explanations of what threatens their survival. Lisa Jewell will share an exclusive preview event introducing readers to her forthcoming bone-chilling, psychological thriller, Don’t Let Him In (Out June 24, 2025!). And to close out the month we will chat with award-winning author and summer reading champion Katherine Applegate, about her enthusiastically heartwarming novel in verse, Odder, inspired by the true story of a Monterey Bay Aquarium program that pairs orphaned otter pups with surrogate mothers.

Whether you join us for the live-stream or go back to watch the recording, you can submit questions for our presenters when you register ahead of time for the talks! All registered participants will receive a link to the recording through their email.

Register and submit any questions you have for the authors at: https://libraryc.org/carroll-library/upcoming.

You can register for a monthly Library Speakers Consortium newsletter about all the upcoming author talks being offered at the Carroll Public Library at: https://libraryc.org/carroll-library/subscribe.
