Fingerprinting

The Carroll Police Department is able to fingerprint those that are required to do so for a job application.  The fee for printing is $10.  No appointment is necessary; however, this service is only offered during business hours.

Vehicle inspection

The Carroll Police Department is one in few in the area that provide vehicle inspections for salvage titled vehicles.  Officers are DOT certified to inspect vehicles for a fee of $30.  When using this service it is required that an Iowa Title is brought with, as well as any invoices or receipts on parts used on the vehicle.

Bicycle Registration

Bicycle registration is not required by the City of Carroll, however it is highly recommended. Cost of registering a bike with the city is $1, and is good for a year. Over the past few years there has been an increase in found and stolen bikes, and registering your bike is a way that will assist us with finding the owner of bicycles that are turned into us.

Vacation/Security Checks

As part of our regular patrol we offer security checks for residences, where the resident or owner will be away for period of time, and would like extra security on the residence or property. Owners must alert police department of length of vacation or absence, and return date.  Request forms are available for pick at the police department.

Speed Trailer

From areas all over the city we receive complaints of drivers traveling at rates of speed not consistent with the posted speed limit. The City of Carroll has a speed trailer, which is used to regulate speeds of drivers, and remind drivers of what the posted speed limit is.  The police department has the ability to move the trailer to different areas of town.  If you feel that your area or neighborhood is in need of speed regulation, please contact us.

Police Department Tours

The City of Carroll Police Department opened its new facility in December  of 2006.  As part of community policing efforts as well as education to members of the community, we will open the police department for a guided tour upon request.  We have done many tours for different organizations in our community such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 4-H.  If your organization would like a guided tour please contact us.
